If you’re planning a special trip, this account will help you get there. We’ll pay interest on your account, and you’ll never pay any service charges. We’ll send you a check at the beginning of May for the balance on your account, and you’ll be on your way to a great vacation!

Health Savings Account
HSAs are designed for individuals and families who are covered by high-deductible health care insurance plans as defined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). HSAs provide similar features to a checking account with competitive interest rates, check writing capabilities for IRS-qualified medical expenses, and a debit card that provides access to your HSA funds for IRS-qualified medical expenses at point of sale (POS) with signature or PIN. There is a one-time $15 set up fee for opening an HSA.

CD & Money Market Accounts
At Piscataqua Savings Bank, we’re always surveying deposit rates to ensure that we’re giving our customers the best rates possible. Click here for our current rates and check back often, as this page is updated daily.
Money Market
This is a classic money market account for customers with $2,500 or more. It features a tiered interest rate structure — so, the higher your balance, the more interest you’ll receive.
Certificates of Deposit
We offer terms from three months to five years, with very competitive rates and low minimum balance requirements. You can receive statements monthly, quarterly or annually, or combine them with your monthly checking account statements. Interest is compounded and can be withdrawn or automatically transferred into your checking account at any time without penalty.
IRA Accounts
We want to be the bank you turn to when it comes to saving for a happy, healthy future. That’s why we offer several options to help you plan for your retirement with ease. We’re also proud to say that while some banks have annual, monthly and/or penalty fees, we have NO fees at all unless you make an early withdrawal.
If you’re building for your future or just getting ready to begin saving, want to transfer an existing IRA account or are looking for the best rate on a rollover from an employer-sponsored plan such as a 401(k), please review our IRA options below. We encourage you to stop in or call us anytime to discuss your financial needs in detail. Keep in mind that retirement accounts at Piscataqua Savings Bank are FDIC insured for $250,000, separately from your other deposit accounts.
IRA Account Types
Traditional IRA
A traditional IRA lets you save for retirement as you enjoy tax advantages. This means your contributions (including earnings and gains) won’t be taxed until you take a distribution (withdrawal) from your IRA. As of 2020, the IRS allows you to contribute up to age 70 and a half.
If you have an existing IRA and would like to transfer your account from another institution, we offer great rates. Likewise, if you need to rollover your retirement account from your employer-sponsored retirement plan, just come see us. Either way, we’ll take care of everything for you — that’s why we’re here!
Coverdell Education Savings Account
The Coverdell Education Savings Account (CESA), formerly known as an Education IRA, is a nondeductible account that allows you to save money towards a child’s education on a tax-favored basis. Distributions used to pay for qualified education expenses are federal income tax free.
There are no compensation requirements or age restrictions for contributors. Total aggregate contributions allowed into one or more CESAs on behalf of any child is $2,000 per year. Please call us for more information about opening or transferring funds into a Coverdell Education Savings Account.
Roth IRA
Establishing a Roth IRA allows non-tax-deductible contributions and withdrawals for certain distribution reasons after a five-year holding period. You may be eligible to establish a Roth IRA depending on your level of earned income. Please see us or call for details.
If you’d like to transfer an existing Roth IRA from another institution, we offer great rates and will be happy to assist you in the process. Or you can convert your traditional IRA into a Roth account for greater benefits. Again, we’ll make the process easy for you. All you have to do is come in and see us!
