June 2020—Portsmouth, NH – Piscataqua Savings Bank recently held its Annual Meeting of the Corporation via Zoom. Thirty-four Corporators, members of the Board of Trustees, and four senior officers were in attendance. Two new corporators were elected for their upcoming fiscal year, they are Amy Ferris, owner of Life Simple Solutions and Curtis Springer, who is retired from Harvard University.
In his President’s Message, Rick Wallis spoke about the Bank’s new status as a B Corporation and its designation as a “Best For The World Honoree” in the Workers category for 2019. He said, “Our corporate culture is reflected in the sixteen employees who all celebrated ten or more years with the Bank during 2019. These long-tenured employees have great institutional and product knowledge that translates to exemplary customer service. After all, happy employees make for happy customers. And no one knows what the world will look like on the other side of this pandemic, but one thing is certain: Piscataqua Savings Bank will continue to be there for its customers, staff, and the community.”
Eight members of the Board of Trustees were also re-elected, and they include: Joseph Almeida, Christopher Brown, Margot Doering, Jay Gibson, Philip Pettis, Alan Robinson, Elisabeth Robinson, and Richard Wallis.
In his Financial Report, David H. Bryan, Vice President/Treasurer, noted that the Bank remains fiscally strong and said, “The Bank’s model of delivering personal service with a landmark local presence still resonates in the Port City and surrounding towns.” And Debra Perry, Vice President/Senior Loan Officer said that, “Despite fierce local competition, we ranked 4th overall for the number of loans originated in Portsmouth in 2019.”
